Shadows outline all that remains unspoken.
Mama
Bounding toward your tiny screeching baby hiding
in the tender greens from a blue-black raven,
you frightened him away to another meal.
Holding nothing against the raven,
my respect grew considerably in your favor.

When the night comes
and the moon glows,
do you come to life,

A cabinet of ribbons and reflections haunts my passing gaze
with all that is before me and all that is left behind.

Lifting their huge wings and strutting strong bodies,
