i found beauty in your serpentine line,
in your sharpened glint and your sterling shine,
in your elegant edges entwined
by your punishing, silvery spine

Interesting Sylvia, you are the first person who I have ever known, who could find beauty in this wire. It takes a special eye. –Curt

Well perhaps there are not as many poems written to honor things like this, but I do believe that there is a special beauty to these items. Not the same beauty reserved for flowers or thick moss, but beauty nonetheless. It did occur to me that if I were bound, or held back by one of these silver razor wires, my perception might be different. As it was, I was merely observing peacefully from the sidewalk. And thus, it seemed very beautiful to me.

If beauty is measured in effective engineering, which it certainly can be, this wire would probably win a prize in its category. Barbed wire has rarely held me back when I wanted to go somewhere. This stuff is something else. –Curt
