it was grey and rainy,
the fog clinging to our wet coats,
but we laughed over breakfast–
later collecting rose buds,
maiden hair ferns
and a wooden mushroom

it was grey and rainy,
the fog clinging to our wet coats,
but we laughed over breakfast–
later collecting rose buds,
maiden hair ferns
and a wooden mushroom

she was made happy by the sun,
and the dawning night,
the sprouting greens in the garden,
and the laughter of everyone around her

we are all bridges

everything awakens

travel through time
fly at midnight
dust the pollen from fragile wings

tulips and amaryllis
strawberries with brown sugar
handpainted china
a straw in the woods
jelly beans in a bowl
our hearts beating together

tea shed
ginger biscuits
mended linen
watermelon party
warm brook
snowdrops
peeking crocuses
oak apples

it was the bright blue desert sky
that she engraved into memory–
that day of heat and happiness

the smell of the barn
the rakes on the wall
the bees in the grass
and the dogs in the field
made for a good day
