Lyrics from the song: Sign

Sign, sign
Everywhere a sign
Blockin’ out the scenery
Breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that
Can’t you read the sign?

from the song Sign written by Les Emmerson and performed by The Five Man Electrical Band, 1970

    1. Well Matt, I’m a very big fan of hippie nonsense, nonsense in general but hippie nonsense speaks to me in particular. I always liked this song (for many reasons) and find it to be as relevant now (and maybe more so) than in 1970. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 🙂

  1. I remember this great song, Sylvia, and it is becoming more relevant to me as the years go by. I will hit 62 this month. No excitement here… 😂

    1. Lots of signs saying lots of things that lots of people don’t care about.
Whenever I do something that a sign expressly “forbids” and my daughter says, “Mom, you’re not allowed to do this thing”, I say, “I think it’s just a suggestion, not so much of a command. For today, I’m not going to take the suggestion” (and then she rolls her eyes at me)

  2. It would be interesting to see how many people actually read the signs. I know when I drive over familiar roads, I hardly notice speed limit signs and just cruise along based on road conditions and traffic (living rurally, there is little). 🙂
