This particular album of Tori Amos’ is one of my favorites and I have to say, that this opening line of Scarlet’s Walk strikes me every time I hear it. I’m glad you liked it Timothy. 🙂

I’ve seen her in concert too Tom. Her lyrics can be surrealistic, and some of them are really beautiful. I listen to her a lot, not everyone’s cup of tea, I know, but I think her fans are a pretty distinctive bunch. 🙂

I just watched the video of Cornflake Girl and of course it’s ridiculous. So I recommend listening to Cornflake Girl very loudly, sitting on a back porch with the sun on your face and your eyes closed. Or in the car with the windows down, on a long, country road. Much better. 🙂

Yes, after I rolled my eyes a couple times, I remembered that she was probably in her 20’s when she made that video and it was most likely someone else’s ideas, but who knows, maybe she really wanted to feature a cowboy peeling carrots in a cauldron, what do I know?
