Dear January,
You are long and bleak, you are monochromatic and suffocating.
You curl around yourself like a sleek grey cat, turned inward, oblivious and self-assured, unfazed by your chilling effect. I want to like you, to embrace you to see the good in your wintry silence, but your indifference haunts me and I am left counting the days until spring.
You capture it so well!

You have expressed your thoughts very well. I am soon to be a year older. Here in Oregon there are many days of rain. Have been a former California woman, I find it refreshing. I don’t want the days of my life to rush. Winter can be trying for many. I do get excited when the sun comes out..

Yes, the sun makes a very big difference. Here where I am in Pittsburgh, PA there are also many, many days of clouds and rain and for the most part, I agree with you, it can be restful.

I was hoping,(am) for snow.. I was born in a desert town in southern California. So I get very excited about watching it fall..

Wonderful photo and words, Sylvia! I agree. It’s not deep cold here but cool enough, ready for our summer heat. 😎🌴
