Now this drifter’s world goes ‘round and ‘round
And I doubt that it’s ever gonna stop
But of all the dreams I’ve lost or found
And all that I ain’t got
I still need to lean to
Somebody I can sing to
Lyrics from the song Please Come to Boston by Dave Loggins, 1974
a great song I haven’t thought of in a while

I haven’t heard that song in a very long time. Love that photo of homes on the slope. 😎

Right, I heard it one day on the radio and came home and downloaded it and have listened to it several times since. It used to be one of my favorite songs years ago. My husband took that shot in Portugal.

They got home on Friday and we haven’t stopped going out for dinner with friends and family to talk about the trip. It will be life altering for my daughter.

Ah! I only knew and loved the Joan Baez version and have never heard the original. Thanks.

Such a lovely voice Joan Baez has. It’s been many years since I’ve heard that version but I think her version was a little slower and more sorrowful, is that right? The original is melancholy but yet moves a little quicker. I’ve always loved this song, it’s beautifully written.

I heard it when I was 19 and yet to visit the USA. 🙂 I knew her Greatest Hits album by heart and this one was one of my favourites. I love her tempo and delivery. When she says “…come to LA and live forever”, I really thought that would be me. I came to LA for two weeks and left but expected to return one day. Instead I found my California in Tuscany. 🙂
