I love the sound of the mourning doves in the trees. Although the blue jays (which I have never seen around the river in 6 years) have arrived on the scene and are frightening the doves and the sparrows. The jays are beautiful, but they are not a calming presence.

Jays are noisy and bossy, not to mention greedy. I sometimes watch them load up to 20 sunflower seeds in their craws at once! π I now have two bird feeders, one they have access to and one they don’t. Frustrates the heck out of them. βCurt

This is so January just the leaves get us but my boys are great helpers with since we have a huge pecan tree in front of our house. Great choice of book!!
