Yes, it actually got a bit harder when we brought her home because I felt like I was betraying my best girl. But those feelings have eased and now I’m starting to enjoy this little pip.
Lovely expression! I. too, have known the sorrow of a dear friend’s passing and then eventually bringing into the family a furry creature of God to fill the hole in my heart. You captured the emotion of it all perfectly.
The puppy is so cute. The new puppy can never replace the dog who died, but having a puppy to take care of starts the healing—and the laughing again– when they do silly things.
She is adorable!

Somehow the new dog knows just what you need to heal enough, so the memories bring joy not hurt.

Sad to say goodbye to your old friend, but now a puppy starts to heal the pain in the space left by your fur friend.
