Conversations with My Mum

my mum: We’re all going to hell together.
me: We’re not going to hell now, we’re safe here. We’re all together and it’s nice here.
my mum: This is hell.
me: Tell me what you grew in your garden?
my mum: In hell?
me: In Ohio, you had a beautiful garden and you grew lovely roses.
my mum: Oh the roses were my favorite, red and pink and yellow roses…

pause

my mum: I want to die.
me: I know mama.

  2. Sylvia, I offer you big virtual hugs my friend. My mum passed in 2012, we lost my dad in 2024. It’s incredibly difficult to lose your parents. Be well my friend. 🙏🏻❤️

  3. Hard conversations for sure. As difficult for them to understand as it is for us. I grew a tougher skin in dealing with my mom. The grace was that somedays the conversations were lighter and sometimes comical. Stay strong. I’m praying you have a lighter day ahead.
