Lyrics from the song Sugar Magnolia

Sometimes when the cuckoo’s crying
When the moon is halfway down
Sometimes when the night is dying
I take me out and I wander around…

from the song Sugar Magnolia, 1970, written by Robert Hunter and Bob Weir, performed by Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead

      1. I got that years ago at a thrift store and I have had it on display all these years. It’s very heavy and has scratched more than one table that I’ve placed it on! But still, I love it. 🙂

    1. I went to two or three shows in Pittsburgh, one show in Buffalo and one in Cleveland and have nothing but good memories of the experience. 🙂 I love reading about the Beats and the Merry Pranksters with Ken Kesey and Neal Cassidy and The Dead. That all was years before I saw them in concert, but still, I love the history and literary connections.

      1. I will absolutely read what you wrote Curt! You know I love all of what you write and especially about subjects that are close to my heart like anything related to the counter culture of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s!
