rain fell in long sheets against the windows,
the sound of quacking ducks traveled on the rising mist,
hot tea sat cooling in a china cup,
while the dog slept on tattered blankets–
another day unraveled from the worn fabric of time

Glad to see you back. In the meantime I posted one door especially for you. You might have gotten a pingback. If not, check my this Thursday Doors post. Hint: tobacco is involved. 🙂

I’m so glad you pointed this out, as I would have missed your pingback. What a great blog post that was! All those different and talented bloggers and I’m so humbled and happy that you included me in that list. Although I don’t smoke often, I must say that when I do I completely enjoy it and would love to sit on the other side of that door with a little coffee and a little cognac, and a good friend. Until I can physically be there, I will enjoy the scene through your beautiful photographs. – Sylvia

Oh yes, Sylvia, I like this “until”. Here’s to the thought! I’m glad you saw it and enjoyed it. And thank you for clicking that button. 🙂 (I smoked for 20 years and loved everything about it until 11 years ago when I started to hate it because I felt programmed into loving it. So I quit.)

Thank you Jodi. Waking up to snow this morning was quite something! I’m sure it was as beautiful for you out in the country as it was for me on the river. The trees looked like they had been frosted with icing. Will the forsythia survive this cold do you think?

Our forsythia is just starting to bud. I sure hope!

Thank you Jet. Your words have the same effect on me! Sometimes I don’t get along with technology very well, but this blogging community has been a very positive thing for me. “Meeting” people like you, reading your blog and seeing Alexandra’s photos is so wonderful. I look forward to it every day.
