i closed my eyes and saw you clearly on that late summer day, walking through the field towards the house, with the setting sun on your back, two irish setters at your heels and a pheasant in your hand

Sometimes closing our eyes opens everything up. Truly wonderful post, Sylvia.

Lovely words and the accompanying photo by Wolfgang. Which inspired which, the words or the photo, or were they both married in harmony? I’m reminded of short stories by Saki and also Kate Bush in dreamy kinds of ways.

I actually ran across a beautiful photo of an irish setter on the tumbler site: http://browndresswithwhitedots.tumblr.com which reminded me of the two irish setters that I wrote about. I considered using that exact photo (with a credit, of course) but then I decided to look at my photos that I have for the blog (both mine and Wolf’s) and when I saw the flowers with the sun high in the sky, I knew that would work.
And Kate Bush?……one of my very favorites. Thank you.
