amid stone hallways and green gardens,
her heart pulsing through the ages,

Wow! This is beautiful. I was talking with hubby another day about all the fantasy and mystery of the medieval time. The Castles, clothes, all the glamour through the eyes of Hollywood, but the real life at that time wasn’t easy, imagine all the smell, diseases, did they have tooth paste? 🙂

Yes, you are right. They did seem to have used many herbs as medicines and hygiene products, but I’m sure the smells and the times were not at all easy. Still, this time period has always fascinated me and frightened me all at once.

I think our noses adjust, Sylvia. I remember when everyone smoked and you didn’t think much about it. Now I have zero tolerance for the smell of tobacco smoke. I wonder if that wasn’t true then as well. –Curt
