remembering the roses of summer–
of Guadalupe’s tears,
of easy walks on flat roads,
of laborers in low riders,
of a soft satin language
flooding dusty arroyos

Hmmm, peaceful except for the flooding, dusty arroyos. They can be a bit bothersome if you don’t get out of the way. 🙂 –Curt

Beautiful. It seems so long ago that summer was here. But her beauty cannot stay hidden.

We have had a very mild autumn, so our winter has just really started. That makes the wait for spring so much better. I hadn’t realized how short our fall season has become in the past couple of years. We have deep snow and deep cold by November. This year we just got our first snow last week and it was really just a dusting. But I’m with you, I’m looking forward to spring and am nostalgic when I see images of flowers and green grass.

I saw the photo – and thought yes, the roses are suffering a bit in this terrible heat – then remembered you have winter right now!
I am hoping for cool breezes, and you are looking forward to spring 🙂
Loved the poem too 🙂
