Memory Box

There are times when I want to burn images into my eyes. I want to save them in a secret golden box of visual memories for a time when I am perhaps very old, or perhaps very sick or perhaps very sad and blind to the beauty that remains constant in the composition of leaves and skies and foggy mountain horizons.

  1. Every time she forget how beautiful she is, I wish I could withdraw one of my own memorial stills, and deposited them in that bax…

  2. Sometimes I wonder if easy access to capturing photographs (cell phones etc) makes us less likely to deeply register a moment, because the technology becomes a buffer. One the other hand, perhaps the action of taking a photo and going back to reference it builds remembrance. In any case, thank you for the lovely words and photo.

    1. I’ve wondered the same thing Jan, even of myself. The desire to document tiny things (like a pine cone that I stepped on) has actually made me more open to appreciating that which surrounds me.
