My son took this photo in an abandoned school building. I asked him about this chair and he said it was placed exactly this way so he didn’t try to align it or change it, he just captured the image. For whatever reason, I found that single chair very hopeful.
Well I can see that. There are usually rodents and obviously a sense of decay and abandonment. But there’s also a sort of beauty in the peeling paint and in the objects left behind. Someone mentioned the word “haunting” and I think that’s a perfect word for some of these buildings.
