Your lovely summer snowflakes beckon as the sun warms your smooth stalks, enticing me to pick you and bring you home.
I admire your poisonous beauty from afar, never touching the tiny, treacherous flowers and ferny leaves that would take my breath away forever.
Beautiful…..I had no idea of how Hemlock looked.

Well it looks very similar to Queen Anne’s Lace. The stalks are smooth on Hemlock. Also Queen Anne’s Lace has a deep purple heart shape in the center and Hemlock does not have that. The leaves are different too, but that’s harder to spot. I think the hairy stalks vs. the smooth stalks are the best indicator.

As a child I would bring home Queen Annes Lace and put it in a vase of water colored with food coloring.

It does look like Queen Anne’s Lace … just smaller.
You’ve captured the light on the flowers so beautifully!

Well it caught my attention and I was about to pick it and then I remembered about the purple heart in the middle of the flower and backed away.
