Lovely photo and sentiment. I am laughing a little however. Peggy and I had quite the discussion yesterday about pines and Douglas Firs. She kept telling people the wild turkeys that launch off our deck railing every night to roost were roosting in fir trees. I kept telling her they were pine trees, which they are. You have a lovely photo of a Douglas Fir. 🙂
It’s a lot of fun to watch the launches. Turkeys don’t fly all that easily so they like something they can more or less fall off of. Now if we could just persuade them to quit pooping on our deck just before they fly… –Curt
I swear I can smell your nature through your photo. 🙂 I really wish I’d be there right now.

Or the pine cones! I’ve walked into a few on low-lying branches–formidable objects, believe me! 😉 PS, pretty pic!

They look like natural Christmas ornaments, Sylvia!
This is probably how decorating trees for Christmas got started.
Great shot!

I did not know that. Douglas Fir, sounds very formal and fitting. Wild turkeys launching off your deck? So so lucky to see that……
