The Leaves

Leaves stick to the bottom of our boots and gather in the kitchen where the shoes are haphazardly discarded. But the leaves, in all of their brittle and scampering leafiness, travel throughout the house on the edges of a passing breeze— resurfacing on a worn blanket or in the corner by a basket of pine cones.

      1. I love this piece of writing so much! It is beautifully and poetically written. It was a brought a new and wonderful way of looking at the floors in my own house this time of year.

  1. The leaves coming indoors, they’re trying escape the colder nights too, lol . 😉

BTW, on raking leaves, use the lawnmower. It acts as a vacuum with the grasscatcher. You can save the leaves for composting or use for mulching in the flower beds or garden. If you have a pushmower, time to break out the rake.
