Taking a Long Break

I’m taking a break from blogging. It would seem a great time to write and post new photographs since we are all spending more time at home, however, in the past month I’ve written countless posts in my head; none of which have made it to this space. I supposes it’s not surprising that at a time of worry and stress, the ability to think about small, daily observations shrink. And yet, I’m acutely aware of the fact that now would be a wonderful opportunity to concentrate on those observations with an openness of mind and spirit that allows for intense gratitude and fortitude. For me personally, I’m leaning towards stillness and maybe even some silence. I wish for you to be healthy, to stay safe in these strange and challenging times, farewell for now.

  1. I like the connection I feel when you post. When I participate in the blogging world I like the feeling of connection to a world out there. Of course the real connection is to your inner self. Best wishes with that.

  2. I’ll miss your photos, but I understand completely. I had posted every day for two or three years; it eventually got to the point where I had to just walk away, and focus on other things.

  3. Sometimes, it’s, needed, that we, break away, from things we, normally, do, because the timing tells, us to, there’s nothing wrong with that, so, good luck, during, your, needed, “hibernation” ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I totally understand the need for a break. Everyone keeps saying we have so much more time to do things, but I certainly have fewer internal resources. I’m finding it very difficult to create beyond a very small set of relative simple things. How Shakespeare wrote King Lear while in quarantine, I have no idea. I can’t remember what day it is let alone what I was just writing. So I’m keeping my actions small. I hope you find your break rejuvenating, and that you and your family stay healthy through the coming weeks.

  5. I totally understand. My posts have slowed down, but thankfully, another writer has been posting on my blog. What a blessing his post are. I get up in the morning with thoughts of getting a post out, but night comes and nothing has come to mind. I’m cooking more, but that is no excuse. The days just seem to run into another. I’m not discouraged, just “empty-brained” ๐Ÿ™‚
Love, and hang in there. The Lord is still in control.

  6. I definitely identify with the “countless posts in the head” thing. It’s just that I’m grateful that some of them didn’t make it to publication. ๐Ÿ™‚
