The marsh in late fall exudes a musky scent
that rides the cold breeze and clings to my coat.
Amber brambles crunch beneath my boots while
the sunset sifts through leaves and branches.
Breathing deeply, I let the soft rays warm my soul.

Great wording with “visual impact.” We who live in semi-tropical climes are denied the experience.

Thanks so much. Some days the cold grey skies are oppressive, but I try to collect as many positive thoughts as I can about fall and winter because there are many, its just hard to see sometimes.

The marshes let you know their presence with their musky scent and when you walk you hear them talk to you every step of the way! Great words S.! π
