I remember those old one cylinder engines running – turning gears, and the rhythm of this matches, over and over, again and again. We were working our way to peace through calming repetition and didn’t know it. Insomnia visits seldom, thankfully. Obviously, I like this and sometimes you make me tempted to start writing poetry again.
Thank you, I am becoming more tempted by the day. I am giving it serious thought, having stopped after some deeply felt poetry when Sebastiana died. After publishing those poems I simply didn’t want to go back to the poetry site where I was a member.
A wonderful couplet and great photo to match!

This is great. Beautiful image and words. They work so well together. I can hear the words rhythmically repeating as the gears turn round and round.

Thank you so much. I tried to simplify, but it also reminded me of the rhythm of gears, so I left it alone. Thanks for stopping by today.

Why is it that the mind decides that 3 a.m. is such a great time for worrying? –Curt

I don’t know, but it all looks so hopeless at 3 am. The more you worry the more awake you become. Awful.
